Competition at the UPMC Childrens Hospital 5K Open Water Challenge event at Keystone State Park in Derry Township on Saturday July 09, 2011. The event, directed by Darren Miller of Murrysville, who became the 833rd person to swim across the English Channel, gave participants the opportunity to explore the growing sport of open water swimming with a 5K individual swim challenge and 5K relay swim challenge. Medals were awarded. Proceeds benefited the Heart Center at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

Bachman won the individual challenge in a time of 1:15:40.
